Pacific Ridge Show Jumping Brings High Performance Footing to the Los Angeles Equestrian Center
The Los Angeles Equestrian Center is entering an exciting new chapter for equestrian sport in Los Angeles. In partnership with Pacific Ridge Show Jumping, significant footing upgrades are now underway across the show complex. This investment marks the first of several improvements designed to elevate the competition experience for horses, riders, and spectators alike.
Pacific Ridge Show Jumping (PRSJ), committed to providing a competitor and horse-first experience at every show, is working with GGT-Footing and P.W. Gillibrand Company to provide high quality footing to all five competition arenas and three warm-up areas at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.
The first of many improvements to bring top horse sport back to this iconic venue, the footing project will be completed in time to kick off PRSJ's inaugural 2026 season with Pacific Ridge Spring 1, April 9-12.
"As we launch our first season at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, the most important item for us to address is footing," says Steve Hankin, President & CEO of Pacific Ridge Show Jumping. "We are fortunate to have the strong support of industry leaders GGT-Footing and P.W. Gillibrand Company."
"The investments and partnerships that PRSJ brings to the table highlight their commitment to the quality of their events, as well as their interest in supporting the Los Angeles Equestrian Center as a top-level show facility," says Lesa Williams, Global Equestrian Director, Legends Global, the current facility manager at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. "The equestrian community has a true advocate who understands the industry."
"The footing upgrade will not only improve their events but will touch every equestrian event on the calendar," Williams adds. "We look forward to a long, successful relationship with PRSJ. This is truly an exciting time for the venue."
Great footing is one of the most important elements of any equine discipline for safety and injury prevention. It's also a key ingredient in performance and results, which is why the team at PRSJ has fast-tracked this improvement.
"GGT-Footing is proud to begin its partnership with Pacific Ridge Show Jumping," says Cynthia Brewster-Keating of GGT-Footing. "As a longtime sponsor of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, among other prestigious equestrian facilities, we look forward to collaborating with PRSJ on the upcoming facility improvements. We are thrilled to support the continued growth and excellence of the show jumping sport in Los Angeles."
"P.W. Gillibrand is excited to work with Steve Hankin again to deliver high-quality Equifina Sand for the footing at Los Angeles Equestrian Center," shares Tim McGuire, V.P Sales, P.W. Gillibrand. "His years on the ground managing top-level horse shows give him unique insight into the role the perfect mixture of sand plays in making the best competition surfaces."
PRSJ is also working closely with Kyle Gould of Four G Surfaces on the footing installation. Four G Surfaces brings extensive experience managing high-performance footing installations at major venues, with a track record of blending precision engineering and advanced material technology.
