Looking Back at 2024: ASM Global’s First Year at the LAEC
Dear LAEC Community,
As the year draws to a close, we at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center want to take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary moments that defined 2024. From thrilling horse shows to exciting facility improvements and special events, this year has been one for the books, and it’s all thanks to you—our boarders, trainers, visitors, and supporters.
We’re so grateful for your continued dedication to making LAEC not just a world-class equestrian facility but also a vibrant, welcoming community.
2024 Highlights
This year was filled with achievements and unforgettable experiences. Here are some of the milestones we’re proud to share:
Showstopping Events
From the 35th William Shatner Hollywood Charity Horse Show to the inaugural West Palms MNF Charity Horse Show, and Christmas Market, we hosted over 21 premier horse shows, bringing equestrians and spectators together to celebrate the sports we love.
As part of our plan to bring life back to LAEC, we were able to open the facility for special events! This built awareness of the facility and brought in much-needed revenue. We were able to bring companies like Street Food Cinema and Fever Events on-site to bring new experiences to the equestrian center.
Thanks to these efforts and your support, in-person visitors to LAEC saw an amazing uptick! With our first horse show in March, we saw 500 fresh faces on-site. That number only increased with us seeing over 20,000 newcomers throughout the year and another 4000 expected before January 2025 to participate in our end-of-year on-site equestrian and special events. Don’t forget to grab your tickets to Equestfest today!
Sponsorship & Donor Programs Launch
We kicked off the LAEC Sponsorship Program, welcoming exciting partnerships with FireHorse and GGT Footing, helping us grow and enhance the LAEC experience. In addition, we updated some of our services, like working with Champion Shavings for dustless shavings and working with DaMoor’s Tack & Feed for boarder discounts and more.
In partnership with the LA Parks Foundation, we started the LAEC Friends of the Park Initiative to help raise funds to maintain and rebuild this incredible site.
Facility Enhancements:
Our big A, B, and C barn renovation projects were started in 2024, offering boarders and trainers upgraded spaces that blend functionality with beauty. Through this project, we were able to address major electrical issues that had previously been unresolved. We plan to have renovation and improvement projects in every barn on site over time.
From the day ASM Global took over management of LAEC we’ve worked to improve the facility through basic repairs, creating processes, and forming policies to build a better space for the community. An ongoing list of improvement work can be found here: www.thelaec.com/improvements
Community Growth:
Welcoming around 40 new boarders, trainers, and horses this past year, we’re proud to see our internal community thriving and expanding.
We increased our online communities through social media by more than 15% in 2024, spreading the word that LAEC is the equestrian and event destination of the greater Los Angeles region.
Hits to our website more than doubled this year, especially after a redesign in March to improve user experience and focus on events and services.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we gear up for another exciting year, here’s a glimpse of what’s in store:
Expanded Programs and Events: Look forward to having more horse shows and on-site programming in 2025, promising something for every member of our community. Check out our event calendar throughout the year!
Ongoing Improvements: We’ll continue to enhance our facilities, ensuring LAEC remains a premier destination for equestrians in Southern California and beyond.
Celebrating Our Community: With a calendar full of activities, competitions, and gatherings, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year.
Thank You for an Incredible Year
As we close the chapter on 2024, we want to thank you for being an essential part of the LAEC’s journey. We recognize the history and community of boarders that make LAEC a special place and ask that you join us on the journey to bring us forward together as we rebrand and renovate this beloved facility.
We are also incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from the LA Recreation & Parks Department, which has deeply invested—both financially and personally—in our ASM Global team and this iconic venue. Their dedication reflects a shared vision by the city and ASM Global of preserving the legacy of LAEC while building an exciting future for our community.
Your support, enthusiasm, and commitment fuel everything we do, and we couldn’t be prouder to have you as part of our community.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a happy new year. Here’s to more unforgettable moments in 2025!
